How does Charter Management work?
For the detailed answer, refer to our Charter Management Overview. In a nutshell, Bay Breeze will charter your yacht to qualified, competent sailors when you are not using your yacht. Prospective charterers are screened briefly when initially booking, then with a charter application, and finally, skills are evaluated thoroughly when dockside as well. Revenues are typically split 50/50. On average a yacht charters just 4-8 weeks (depending on model, options and age of the vessel) during our 6 month sailing season leaving ample opportunities for owner use. Newer yachts are more popular which is why we feel confident guaranteeing that the owners revenues will cover all expenses for the first two years – and most likely longer.
When you arrive to use your yacht, Bay Breeze ensures that it will be awaiting dockside, meticulously clean inside and out, properly rigged, safety gear inventoried, mechanical and electrical systems checked, all gear properly stowed, holding tanks pumped out and fuel tank topped off. Don’t spend your valuable time prepping and cleaning – our owners simply arrive and go sailing!
No Expenses on Select New Models? No Kidding!
For select new models (most new models) Bay Breeze will guarantee your new yacht will generate charter revenue that will pay for dockage, insurance, haul-out, winter storage, launch, winterizing, spring commissioning and all routine maintenance such as oil changes, rig tuning, systems checks, etc. If charter revenue (owner’s half) falls short of paying for these expenses, Bay Breeze will pay the difference. If charter revenue (owner’s half) exceeds these expenses, the owner will receive payment for the net profit at the end of the season. Statements are sent out monthly for review.
Shrink wrapping for winter storage, alterations and abnormal repair such as equipment failure are not part of the “No Expenses Guarantee”. Bay Breeze handles warranty issues for vessel owners directly with dealer or factory.
