Marlow Hunter 40 – Sailing on Sydney Harbour

Though they are all originally from Denmark, they are now spread out from Denmark to China and Indiana…which was a big factor in deciding to charter on the Great Lakes for the first time.

And it turns out Mother Nature was very cooperative, and an early season charter went off without a hitch, as they say.

Dennis  has his 50 ton U.S.C.G. license with a sailing endorsement and to share his passion for sailing Dennis became an American Sailing Association Instructor.  As a career teacher Dennis strives to impart  his knowledge and experince in an easy to understand manner.   His goal is for each student to have fun while learning to be a safe, confident sailor, building on their stengths and existing skills.    Focusing on communication and working as a team,  he enjoys teaching couples and famlies the beauty of being on the water.

Boat Drinks

Join us for an informal gathering dockside with beverages and snacks and a short sail around the bay on one of our new Gemini catamarans.  Plus you’ll meet the Bay Breeze staff and get to see our recently remodeled digs at the CenterPointe Marina!

• 5:30 – 8:30 pm, offered all during the month of May, dates will posted with a week notice on this webpage and on the Bay Breeze Facebook page.

Catamaran Stay-n-Sail

Includes staying aboard one evening and sailing the next day. This is a less formal experience than the Catamaran Course featured below but does offer a brief orientation of the Gemini Catamaran before setting sail.  Enjoy a private cabin aboard a new  Gemini Catamaran and then cast off late morning for a 3-hour sail.  In the evening, the catamarans will be docked in our marina and connected to shore power.  You’ll have access to 110v/12v power, electric heaters and  will have full access to our boaters lounge with sofas, kitchen, flat screen, private showers and bathrooms.  The Bay Breeze / CenterPointe Marina is surrounded by restaurants and is just a short drive to the beaches, restaurants, shops and wine tasting the area has to offer.

• Available most anytime during the month of May.  Call for availability.
• Complimentary boarding the  afternoon for those that arrive early
• Includes 3 hours of sailing with one of our friendly, professional, USCG licensed captains.
• Master Stateroom Rate – $595 per couple for the spacious forward master cabin, linens are included
• Guest Stateroom Rate – $395 per couple for the double stateroom aft, linens are included.
• Crew Stateroom Rate – $195 for single occupancy of the forward crew stateroom, linens included.
• Private Stay-Aboard Rate – $795 for the entire boat, up to 4 guests, linens included.

For the first time a cruising catamaran will be on display indoors at the Chicago Strictly Sail boat show.  Bay Breeze Charters & Sales is excited to announce the Midwest debut of the new Gemini Legacy 35 catamaran at the Chicago Strictly Sail boat show January 24-27, 2013. “Typically, cruising catamarans are too wide to display at indoor boat shows”, says Bay Breeze owner Dave Conrad. “The Gemini Legacy has all the space and stability of a catamaran but what sets it apart is that it can still be transported by truck which makes it quite a sight when on display indoors”.

The Gemini Catamaran is the most successful, single design cruising catamaran ever built. Over one thousand Gemini’s have been built in the United States since 1981.  The Legacy 35 is an all-new design with twin inboard diesel engines, fixed keels, high efficiency catamaran rig and offers a choice of two or three cabin layouts.

The Gemini was designed by Tony Smith and over the years was continuously refined. In 2009 Tony sold Gemini to his daughter, Laura and her partner, The Catamaran Company. Production of the boat was then outsourced to Hunter Marine and the culmination of all of this has resulted in the Gemini Legacy 35 Catamaran. The new Gemini Legacy was introduced at the US Sailboat Show in Annapolis MD in October 2012 and has been a tremendous success, selling out through spring of 2013 almost immediately upon her introduction.
