After visiting the Crewed Charter Shows in the USVI and BVI, we always walk away with our favorites we feel represent the best yachts and crew available for charter. Both Monohulls and catamarans alike, each have their benefits and sailing characteristics, but the bottom line at the end of the day are the crews of these yachts. Monohulls
Stenella
If you’re truly into sailing and want the thrill mixed in with a lot of R&R, Andy, KC and “Stenella” are your ticket. A Richleigh 63 and full on sailing machine, she offers comfortable accommodations and a crew that will insure a good time is had by all. Talk a little Americas Cup with Andy as he was crew for the GBR Challenge.
Amicus
At first glance you see a massage table on the aft deck of “Amicus” which is unusual to see aboard a sailboat. Once you meet John and Deb, you’ll understand why. “Amicus” is the most innovative style of charter in the Caribbean. The ultimate in fitness and relaxation… massage style. Sublime
Brian and Stephanie Johnson are owner/operators of “Sublime”, an Irwin 72 and the nicest one we’ve ever seen. Diving is the activity as Brian is a PADI instructor and Stephanie a PADI dive master. “Chef Steph” has a flair for serving excellent cuisine and pleasing the palate. A very friendly and outgoing pair, Brian and Stephanie will engage your sense of adventure and show you the BVI at it’s finest.
Catamarans
Tachyon
While new to the term charter arena, Eric and Jacque Stahl are quite a team. A hand picked R&C 47′ catamaran reflects the dedication to the program. Jacque has decorated each stateroom with a “color” theme. Way cool we think. Eric has vast experiences sail racing, skiing and other outdoor activities. Like sushi? Jacque will catch fish off the back of “Tachyon” and prepare it as her culinary focus was fish and shellfish.
Jet Stream
When it comes to great people, Tim and Marsha embody just that. A unique twist “Jet Stream” offers golf charters in the islands. Need that golf fix… Tim is your man as a retired golf pro and coach for a major university. Marsha is quietly committed to the finer details of your charter not to mention the food. She once arranged the Mocko Jumbie Stilt Walkers for a charter party to enjoy one evening. Tim is also a certified ASA instructor.
Free Ingwe
Lee and Gemma are new to “Free Ingwe” but possess a love for what they do. Fun and down to earth with experience few can boast at such a young age. Lee has over 100,000 miles at sea. Gemma has equaled experience in her culinary talents having spent time with a 5 star chef. We heard one of them is a fire spinner! You’ll have to spend a week with them to find out which one.
