Bay Breeze Instructors to race Chicago-Mac

This year is the 100th running of the famed Chicago – Mackinac race and three of our instructors are competing on three different boats. Keith Forton and Ken Stepnitz are no strangers to the race and will be once again racing on “Kokomo” a 55’ Shock. Dan Spyhalski (pictured here with crew leaving for Chicago), an “ASA instructor of the year” and full time live-aboard will be racing his floating home “Spyke”, a classic 1968 Cal 40. “Spyke” is a former Newport to Bermuda winner in both “1971 & 1972” when it was named “Atlantis”. With the help of Dan and his hearty crew, “Spyke” could claim a freshwater title as well! Check out Chicago Yacht Club for full details on this year’s Chicago – Mac race.
